  • Servings: 12 biscuits
  • Prep Time: 15 minutes
  • Cook Time: 12 minutes
  • Passive Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups The Grist Mill Gold Flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup cold butter, cubed
  • 1 cup buttermilk

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine The Grist Mill Gold Flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Cut in Butter: Add the cold, cubed butter to the flour mixture. Use a pastry cutter or your fingers to work the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Add Buttermilk: Pour in the buttermilk and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Shape Biscuits: Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and gently pat it into a 1-inch thick rectangle. Use a biscuit cutter to cut out biscuits and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Bake: Bake for 10-12 minutes until the biscuits are golden brown.
  7. Cool: Remove from the oven and let cool on a wire rack for a few minutes before serving.

Serve:

Enjoy warm with butter or your favorite toppings.
